Blessing your life with your own attention

Approx < 1 min read

Lately I’ve been trying to be present for little things, as a way of practicing being awake for my life: washing my hands, peeling an orange, making soup. It’s a serious challenge, keeping one’s self focused on the things that are most often done on auto pilot.

I read somewhere that being present is a way of blessing your life with your own attention. I’m finding that my new practice makes me feel like my life is more vivid, more mine. And becoming aware of the gentle significance of everyday moments, and the way they weave together with the profound and glorious ones, this gives me the clarity to treat the gift of my beautiful life as the treasure it certainly is.
